The program at Campanoe Challenge encourages leaders to participate with the youth in all aspects.

The First Year program is split into smaller groups, when numbers allow, but does require more leaders. The smaller groups will be camping in the same sites or within a close distance to the rest of their group so that cooking and eating can still be done as a group. The First Year Director will communicate with all leaders so that they know who they will be camping with, what equipment is needed and where.

All leaders and staff of volunteering with Campanoe Challenge must be registered with Scouts Canada. This includes having a Police Record Check through a police agency with a vulnerable sector search.
